HARMONY VILLAGE

My ideal neighborhood is composed of an eclectic group of people with numerous and varied skills, talents and interests. We each do what we like to do, depending on where our unique skills lead us. Mrs. Parsons makes mouth-watering pastries and loves to read. I read and write, but any culinary talents skipped my gene pool. So, every morning, I take my newest chapter over to Mrs. Parsons and have coffee and apple pie with her.

Mr. Cannon knows everything about electricity and Faye and Joe Kelly grow the tastiest vegetables I've had since I was a child. Clara Cates delights in cleaning houses - she even dusts baseboards! Jessica Kelly loves ironing and Jonathan McLeod takes great pride in operating the community laundry. Aaron Bergman plays beautiful piano and Christy Mellon is a chef. In another life, Merle Johnson drove a race car, so nobody in the neighborhood has a problem with vehicle operation. You get the idea.

Daily, I deliver a new chapter to every household in the neighborhood. During the day, I eat the vegetables the Kellys gave me, I wear the clothing Jessica and Jonathan cleaned and ironed, I enjoy a sparkling house, courtesy of Clara, and Mr. Cannon made sure that my kitchen lights were working again.

Okay, admittedly, this reads like a script for a fifties-era family movie, but you get the point. We each focus on the things we want to do -there really are people who love to wash windows - and the good life comes to us. Although not necessarily in this simplistic manner, you have all kept me going through the years and, for as long as you want to continue, I'll keep writing.

If you're a first time visitor and want to become a member of Harmony Village, you just did. You came to my site, you've gotten this far and now you're going to download and read at least one of my books. That is all you have to do. I place you under no obligation to do anything else. But, I would like this site to be at least self sustaining, so if you should happen to hit the lottery or draw to that inside straight or find you have a little extra in your pocket, you might stick some in an envelope and send it my way.

I also have approximately a thousand of the original ten thousand published trade paperbacks in storage. To the best of my knowledge, these books have been considered "out-of-print" for several years. For those of you who don't have or have lost your copies, these autographed, first editions (with the beautiful southwestern cover paintings by famed artist Albert Dreher) will be available for sale as long as they last.
